Golden Orfe 3-4" (Leuciscus idus)

Maximum size:
Possibly 60cm, more commonly around 30cm

Suggested minimum pond size when adult:
1000 Gallons (4500 litres) for adult fish

Difficulty:
Easy

Feeding:
Feed several times a day on flake or small pellets when water is above 10C, ensure all the food offered is eaten, otherwise this will pollute the water. When water temperature is below 10C use a wheatgerm food and feed sparingly. Golden Orfe appreciate the occasional feed of frozen Bloodworm or Daphnia

Compatibility:
Mix well with most fish of a similar size when kept in a garden pond

Other information
Golden Orfe are active shoaling fish and are best kept in groups. They require well oxygenated water especially during warmer weather.
These fish are bred and reared in the UK, so are well suited to the English climate and can be kept outside throughout the year.
