Halloween Hermit Crab

Common Name: Hawaiian Orange Leg Hermit (Ciliopagurus strigatus)

Feeding:
Excellent at eating algae from rocks. Will eat most frozen foods if it come close to the crab.
Avoid keeping with large or aggressive fish that may view the them as food.

Compatibility:
Mixes well with most fish, and corals. We have found them less aggressive to their own kind and other clean up crew than other hermits.

Other information:
Hawaiian Orange Leg Hermits are less likely to attack Turbo snails, this is because they use Conch shells as their home which have a slit like opening. It has a distinctive white 'shield' that protrudes above its eye. There are reports of this Hermit Crab living up to ten years.
