The standard V2 Auto top up system is a low voltage auto top up system which uses a high quality, sensitive float switch with snail guard.
The float switch is held in place by sat nav style locking suction cup, the bracket incorporates a clamp to secure the top up hose in place. This is connected to the very compact pump via a Y connection, this pump is suprisingly powerful with a maximum output of 200 litres per hour and a 2 metre head.
An auto top-up system is a useful bit of that can be used by almost any fish keeper on all but the smallest aquarium. For marine hobbyists it can help maintain a stable salinity, this can change easily, as only fresh water evaporates. A surprising amount of water can evaporate and without an auto top of the only way to replace and maintain stability is to replenish water lost on a daily basis.
Rather than topping up with fresh water daily an auto top up is connected to a water container, ideally filled with reverse osmosis water which can be stored in the cabinet or close by.
The float switch monitors the water level and when it drops automatically switches on the pump and replenishes the water in the aquarium from the container.
The standard V2 Auto top system includes just about everything you need to get your top up system going, except the top up reservoir.
Float switch with mounting bracket and suction cup, approx. 2 metres of 6/9mmØ hose, 12v pump, transformer and cables.
